Networking groups. We hate to break it to you, but they’re not ALL about cake (although cake is a very important part - or at least we think so!).

Networking is integral to building and growing your business. There is huge value in chatting with likeminded individuals in an informal setting. While seminars and workshops can feel stuffy and restrictive, networking groups allow members to interact with each other in an authentic way.

Networking groups get to the heart of the issues affecting small business owners, with one of those being the isolation that comes with running your own small business, particularly within the creative business industry. A big part of being involved with a networking group is that it can help to improve member social wellbeing. In an increasingly online and disconnected world, this has never been more important.

Networking events provide the opportunity for you to gain knowledge, meet new people, and make real, genuine connections - in a way that some more formal events don’t.

Being able to mingle and meet business owners who you otherwise may not have had the opportunity to connect with allows your brand to be exposed to a wider audience.

Not only are your fellow networkers potential new clients/customers, but they may know just the people in your target market who have been searching for your unique product or service.

Your networking group contains a fountain of knowledge and experience. Seasoned business owners who have seen it all and know so many tips and tricks, and newbies full of enthusiasm and energy. Tapping into that knowledge and energy helps you learn so much about yourself in the process. Chatting to your networking group allows you to workshop new ideas and hone your business practices.

Networking and building connections also allows YOU to help other small businesses. It opens the door for collaboration with others and gives you the opportunity to pass on your industry knowledge as well. You can make a real impact in the lives of your fellow members and even make lifelong friends.

As I always say – Community Over Competition. This is EXACTLY the premise behind good networking groups (and keep your eye on this space as we have some exciting things coming!).

As small business owners in the creative space it is essential to find your tribe. Fellow creatives who understand the unique challenges and obstacles that come with building your brand.

Networking isn't just about making sales. It is about being part of a larger community that supports one another through our business journey. When looking at joining a networking community make sure you know what you're looking for out of being involved and that you are an active participant. You only get out what you put in!

We can't wait to share with you the things we're working on in this space but in the meantime, happy networking!
